Manager

The manager is responsible for the Operation of the Puppy Palace. Responsible for overall staffing, resourcing and maintenance of the facility.

Ideal Candidate:

• Must love Puppies - Must have a passion and love for puppies

• Use critical thinking skills

• Ideally be somewhat familiar with dog breeds

• Maintain health records of all puppies

• Maintain a safe, secure, healthy and humane environment while complying with Local, State and Federal Regulations.

• Have adequate customer relations and management skills

• Perform all duties in accordance with The Standard of Operating Procedures 

Veterinary Technician (Vet-Tech)

The Veterinary Technician works together with team members to ensure that our puppies' health and safety are our number one priority. They also work with our veterinarian to make sure that our puppies are healthy, safe and happy. 

The Veterinary Technician assists in multiple areas providing care for animals including physical examinations, immunizations, preventative care as well as client education, marketing and inventory.  This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common diseases and their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention, and other basic preventative health care recommendations. This is an overview of the position and the job responsibilities listed do not encompass the entire position.

Ideal Candidate:

Technical

• Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, serums and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarians.

• Communicate with and educate clients in a professional manner

• Maintain knowledge of preventative healthcare recommendations in order to answer client questions, and provide education on vaccines, and common disease and viruses of puppies

• Perform client callbacks

• Assist kennel staff

• Maintain puppies’ files and all medical records

• Update medical records as needed

Housekeeping 

• Maintain cleanliness of puppy suite enclosures, counters, sinks, floors and all areas that puppies come in contact with

• Discard syringes, vials, and needles in appropriate containers

Safety

• Follow OSHA requirements

• Follow The Puppy Palace’s health and safety protocols

• Maintain SDS manual and follow proper protocols

• Be knowledgeable regarding related federal and state animal health laws and regulations including OSHA and DOA; ensure that everyone is complying

Administrative

• Preparing reports as required by State and Federal Agencies

• Assist Veterinarian when they perform Health checks on our puppies

• Unpack deliveries, reconcile against packing slip, restock supplies

• Lead Staff Meetings

• Maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment and supplies

• Maintain inventory of Puppy Food, paper, cleaning supplies and job supplies

• Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support The Puppy Palace’s philosophy

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Communicate with Veterinarian concerning puppies’ health

Kennel Attendant

The Kennel Attendant will be responsible for providing compassion and exceptional care of the puppies at all times, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with other duties as needed. 

The Kennel Attendant will assist in multiple areas to provide care for the puppies including cleaning and sanitizing the puppy enclosures, properly feeding the puppies, washing dishes, doing laundry, and keeping the overall facility clean. The Kennel Attendant operates under the supervision of the Veterinary Technician. This is an overview of the position and the job responsibilities listed do not encompass the entire position.

Ideal Candidate:

Technical

• Observe puppies’ appearance and activity for physical appearance, signs of illness, disease or discontent

• Handle puppies properly and safely, and restrain when needed 

• Bathe and groom the puppies and perform nail trims 

• Feed the puppies 

• Assist the Veterinary Technician 

• Clean, disinfect and maintain puppy enclosures as often as is necessary to ensure no enclosures are soiled and odors are not apparent. 

• Perform general cleaning in other areas of the facility to control the spread of disease. 

• Wash and sterilize water and food bowls.

• Launder and dry towels, blankets and toys

• Record information such as feeding schedules, appearance, and behavior of the puppies
